I hate people

Apparently, some sports guy recently made a public statement about not liking gay people. [insert media frenzy here.]

WTF? Who freakin' cares what some trog basketball player thinks? Seriously. First of all, he has his right to say as he chooses. Second of all, nothing. Get over it. People don't like everyone. It's never going to happen.

Additional observations:
1) Just because he says he doesn't like gay people, IT DOESN'T MEAN HE'S GAY!!! This is a frequently cited cliché. It's bullshit. There are occasions where a public homophobe is a closet queer, but I'm doubtful that it's the norm.

2) "It's okay because homosexuality is wrong." Typically cited by bible bangers & hicks, often alongside the "People choose to be gay." I think my favorite comment was something like, "A guy isn't born attracted to men, just like I wasn't born attracted to a certain type of woman" (emphasis is mine). I'm going to assume a certain intelligence level on the part of readers, & won't bother explaining what's wrong with that statement.

3) There's nothing wrong with hating people. I'll give an example: I hate college kids, republicans, democrats, SUV-drivers, hippies, druggies, turkey (the meat, not the country... on second thought, the country too) eurotrash, the entire EEC, blacks, whites, asians, mexicans, christians, muslims, jews, mormons, hot dog vendors, gays, straights, bisexuals, trannies, jocks, nerds, telemarketers, bad drivers, men, women, children, homeless people, poor people, rich people, the entire middle class, capitalists, communists, socialists, sales people, academics, upper management, sweatshop workers, she-males, firefighters, heroes, potato farmers, bad spellers, George Bush, Ted Kennedy, your parents, psychologists, and foot fetishists. Does that include everyone? I hope so. If I've missed you, drop me a line and I'll add you to the list!
